Welcome to The Meier Co. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our mobile applications, digital templates, and the themeierco.com website. By installing one of our apps, downloading one of our templates, or using this website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Products and Delivery

The Meier Co provides:

  • Mobile applications — distributed through the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Some apps are free, some include optional in-app purchases (such as a one-time “Remove Ads” or Deluxe upgrade), and some are paired companion apps for Wear OS smartwatches.
  • Digital templates — Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx), Microsoft Word documents (.docx), and PDF files distributed through the Etsy marketplace as instant downloads.
  • This website — themeierco.com, which provides product information and links to the storefronts where our products are sold.

All products are digital. No physical products are shipped.

2. License and Permitted Use

Mobile Applications

When you install one of our apps, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to the rules of the store from which you installed it (Google Play or the Apple App Store). You may not reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, or republish our apps.

Digital Templates

When you purchase a template, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the template. This means:

  • You MAY: Use the template for unlimited personal or business purposes by making copies.
  • You MAY: Customize and modify the template for your own use.
  • You MAY: Share completed documents (with your data filled in) with relevant parties.
  • You MAY NOT: Resell, redistribute, or share the blank templates with others who have not purchased their own license.
  • You MAY NOT: Claim the templates as your own creation or remove branding.
  • You MAY NOT: Upload blank templates to any marketplace, file-sharing site, or public repository.

3. In-App Purchases

Some of our mobile applications offer optional in-app purchases — for example, a one-time “Remove Ads” purchase or a Deluxe upgrade that unlocks additional features. All in-app purchase transactions are processed by Apple (on iOS) or Google (on Android). The Meier Co does not see your payment method, billing address, Apple ID, or Google account credentials. Refunds, family sharing, and purchase restoration are managed by the respective platform under its own terms.

4. Advertising

Some of our free mobile applications display banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. We have configured these to serve non-personalized ads only, with no use of advertising identifiers (no IDFA, no cross-app tracking). You can remove all advertising from any of our paid-tier apps by completing the in-app purchase to remove ads.

5. Product Automation (Templates)

Our digital templates use standard application features to provide automation, including formulas, conditional formatting, data validation, and cross-references. These features:

  • Run entirely within your application (Excel, Word, LibreOffice, or similar)
  • Do not transmit data to external servers
  • Do not require any special permissions, macros, or scripts
  • Are included as part of the product and are covered by these Terms

6. Legal Templates Disclaimer

Some of our digital templates include legal document templates (wills, advance directives, powers of attorney). These templates are provided for informational and organizational purposes only. They are NOT a substitute for professional legal advice. Laws regarding estate planning, wills, and powers of attorney vary significantly by state and jurisdiction.

The Meier Co is not a law firm, does not practice law, and does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. We strongly recommend having a licensed attorney in your state review any completed legal documents before signing. Use of legal templates is at your own risk.

7. Cruise, Travel, and Game Disclaimer (Apps)

Our cruise companion app (All Aboard) is a personal organizer and alarm tool. It is not affiliated with any cruise line, and the alarms it provides are reminders only — you are responsible for being on board on time. Times, time zones, and itineraries you enter are yours to verify against your official cruise documents.

Our games (OhFark, Dirty30) are entertainment products. They do not involve real-money gambling and are not directed at children under the applicable minimum age.

8. Intellectual Property

All products — including app source code, app artwork and icons, spreadsheet structures, document content, formulas, formatting, design elements, and the contents of this website — are the intellectual property of The Meier Co and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. Your purchase or download grants you a license to USE the product, not ownership of the underlying intellectual property.

9. Refund Policy

Mobile apps and in-app purchases: Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective store policies. Please contact the platform on which you made the purchase.

Digital templates: Due to the digital nature of these products, all sales are final once the files have been accessed or downloaded. If you experience a technical issue, please contact us at support@themeierco.com and we will work to resolve it.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our products and this website are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. While our products are designed based on professional best practices, we do not guarantee any specific outcome from their use.

Our products are tools — educational, organizational, and recreational. They do not constitute professional consulting, legal advice, or financial advice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Meier Co shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our products or this website. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the product giving rise to the claim (which, for free apps, may be zero).

12. Product Updates

We may update apps and templates from time to time. Updates to mobile apps are delivered through the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store under their respective terms. Updates to previously purchased templates may be made available at our discretion. We are not obligated to provide updates or support for any specific period.

13. Third-Party Platforms

Our products are distributed through third-party platforms whose terms also apply to your use:

If you open one of our template files in a cloud service (for example, Microsoft 365 online), that service’s terms also apply. The Meier Co is not responsible for the operation of third-party platforms.

14. Website Use

The themeierco.com website is provided as a marketing and information resource. You may view, link to, and share the public pages of this site. You may not scrape, copy substantial portions of the site for republication, frame the site within another site, or use the site in any way that interferes with its operation.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our products or this website after a change indicates your acceptance.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
