Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 5, 2026

This privacy policy describes how The Meier Co (“we”, “our”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile applications and digital products. It applies to every application and template we publish — on iOS, Android, Etsy, or any other platform — unless an individual product provides its own policy.

Information We Collect

Our products do not directly collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information about you. All data you enter — such as cruise dates, alarm times, project details, game state, or estate planning information — is stored locally on your device or in your own files, and is not sent to us or to any third party.

Device Permissions

Our mobile applications may request the following permissions on your device. You can revoke any of these in your device’s Settings at any time:

  • Alarms — to schedule a system alarm at the time you set.
  • Notifications — to deliver alarm and reminder alerts.
  • Camera and Photos — only when you choose to attach a photo (for example, a travel document or itinerary scan) to an item inside the app.
  • Wear OS Data Layer — to sync settings between a paired phone and watch where applicable.

None of these permissions transmit data off your device.

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob (advertising)

Some of our mobile applications display banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. We have configured AdMob to serve non-personalized ads only, which means:

  • Ads are not based on your past behavior, browsing history, or interests.
  • We do not use Apple’s IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers).
  • You will not see an “Allow tracking” prompt because no cross-app tracking takes place.
  • AdMob may receive minimal technical context required to serve and report on ads (approximate country-level location, language, generic device type, IP address) but does not link this to a persistent advertising identifier.

You can remove all advertising from any of our paid-tier apps via an in-app purchase. Google’s privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Play (in-app purchases and games services)

Some of our Android applications offer themeierco.com in-app purchases — for example, a one-time “Remove Ads” purchase or a Deluxe upgrade. These transactions are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see your payment method, billing address, or Google account credentials. Some games also use Google Play Games Services for leaderboards and achievements; that integration is governed by your Google Play Games settings. Google’s privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.

Apple App Store (in-app purchases)

Some of our iOS applications offer themeierco.com in-app purchases — for example, a one-time “Remove Ads” purchase. These transactions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment method, billing address, or Apple ID. Refunds, family sharing, and purchase restoration are managed by Apple. Apple’s privacy practices are described at apple.com/legal/privacy.

Digital Templates and Downloads

Our spreadsheet and document products (delivered as .xlsx, .docx, and .pdf files through Etsy) are standalone files that you download and use on your own computer or cloud storage. They contain no macros or scripts, and they do not connect to any external service. All data you enter into a template stays in your file on your device. We do not access, read, or store any data you enter. When you purchase on Etsy, Etsy’s privacy policy applies to that transaction — we do not receive your payment information. If you choose to open one of our files in a cloud service (for example, Microsoft 365 online), that service’s privacy policy applies to the data you enter while using their platform.

Children’s Privacy

Our products are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we have configured Google AdMob to treat ads in our applications as not directed at children. If you believe we may have inadvertently received personal information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can address it.

Data Security

Because our products do not transmit personal data, the information on your device is protected by your device’s own security (encryption, passcode, biometric lock, etc.). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and your downloaded files. For sensitive documents — especially estate planning files — we recommend keeping backup copies, using password protection, and being careful about who you share your files with.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continued use of our products after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
