Welcome to The Meier Co. By purchasing, downloading, or using our products, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Products and Delivery

The Meier Co sells digital tools and templates delivered as Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx), Microsoft Word documents (.docx), and PDF files through the Etsy marketplace. All products are digital downloads — no physical products are shipped.

Upon purchase, you will receive the product files for download. You will need a compatible application (such as Microsoft Excel, Word, LibreOffice, or similar) to use our products.

2. License and Permitted Use

When you purchase a product, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the product. This means:

You MAY: Use the product for unlimited personal or business purposes by making copies.
You MAY: Customize and modify the templates for your own use.
You MAY: Share completed documents (with your data filled in) with relevant parties.
You MAY NOT: Resell, redistribute, or share the blank templates with others who have not purchased their own license.
You MAY NOT: Claim the templates as your own creation or remove branding.
You MAY NOT: Upload blank templates to any marketplace, file-sharing site, or public repository.

3. Product Automation

Our products use standard application features to provide automation, including formulas, conditional formatting, data validation, and cross-references. These features:

Run entirely within your application
Do not transmit data to external servers
Do not require any special permissions, macros, or scripts
Are included as part of the product and are covered by these terms

4. Legal Templates Disclaimer

Some of our products include legal document templates (wills, advance directives, powers of attorney). These templates are provided for informational and organizational purposes only. They are NOT a substitute for professional legal advice. Laws regarding estate planning, wills, and powers of attorney vary significantly by state and jurisdiction.

The Meier Co is not a law firm, does not practice law, and does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. We strongly recommend having a licensed attorney in your state review any completed legal documents before signing.

Use of legal templates is at your own risk. The Meier Co assumes no liability for the legal validity or enforceability of documents created using our templates.

5. Intellectual Property

All products, including spreadsheet structures, document content, formulas, formatting, and design elements, are the intellectual property of The Meier Co and are protected by copyright law. Your purchase grants you a license to USE the products, not ownership of the underlying intellectual property.

6. Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final. We cannot offer refunds once the digital files have been accessed or downloaded. If you experience a technical issue, please contact us at support@themeierco.com and we will work to resolve it.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our products are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. While our products are designed based on professional best practices, we do not guarantee any specific outcome from their use.

Our products are educational and organizational tools. They do not constitute professional consulting, legal advice, or financial advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Meier Co shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our products. Our total liability shall not exceed the purchase price you paid.

9. Product Updates

We may update products from time to time. Updates to previously purchased products may be made available at our discretion. We are not obligated to provide updates or support for any specific period.

10. Third-Party Platforms

Our products are sold through Etsy. Your use of Etsy is subject to their terms and privacy policy. If you open our files in a cloud service, that service's terms apply. The Meier Co is not responsible for third-party platforms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States.
